Mark R. Reckling Scholarship

Mark Reckling, born and raised in Waukegan, owned and operated Grand Appliance for 43 years. The first store opened in Waukegan, and the business has grown to 28 locations across Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Mark was very proud of his accomplishments and always thought that his opportunity to attend college helped him develop his business skills and prepare him for his career. He was proud of his upbringing in Waukegan. He never strayed far from his roots nor forgot where he came from. In Mark’s honor, his family and the Grand Foundation are offering a scholarship in the amount of $43,000 ($10,750 over 4 years) each year to a Waukegan to College scholar.
